Recommended Music and Live Performer's TOP RECOMMENDATION BEST LIVE ACT IVE SEEN IN 2010 ABSYNTHE MINDED FROM BELGIUM Here I have decided to recommend groups whom I have seen recently who stand out as being something special and would, I feel warrant the casual listener checking out at the soonest possibility.
The group I have recently seen who I believe are destined for great things are a Belgium group called " Absynthe Minded ", I travelled to Germany to see the Annual Rock im Park festival at Nuremberg, and whilst casually checking out what music was on offer, I strayed into the indoor Nuremberg Arena. At that time Mid afternoon, a group came on stage who I hadn't heard of before and these were Absynthe minded. A rather incredible band to be honest, who were really good musicians and had incredibly well put together songs which are easy to listen to intelligent and accessible.
the group I feel excelled playing live and on my return to the Uk I checked out their current album which although isnt their debut release is self titled, I contacted the bands Manager and he told me they are aiming to get the album released in the UK and are also playing over in the UK in September. UK TOUR DATE 6TH SEPT 2010 MONTO WATER RATS , LONDON I cannot stress how good these guys are and recommend them as a lover of quality music. Here is a link to thier site and a few bits about the group http://www.absyntheminded.be/site/

Biography the beginning... For the recording of their fourth album,
Absynthe Minded moved to Paris for about a month. In the legendary "Studio
Ferber" they worked on new material, together with producer Jean Lamoot (Noir
Désir, Alain Bashung, Salif Keita) and recorded 18 tracks. Twelve of these songs
are on their new album, and they're keeping it simple; It's called "Absynthe
Minded" and it's great! Check it out for yourself people, everybody has an
opinion! Influences The Beatles, Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, Miles Davis, Rolling Stones, Nick Drake, The Raconteurs, dEUS, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Thelonious Monk, Billie Holiday, John Cage, Dmitri Shostakovich, John Zorn
